Who is God? (Exodus 15)

Who is God? (Exodus 15)

Who is God? This is one of the most important questions mankind must ask. It is essential to life here on this earth and life after death. Praise God, for He has revealed part of Himself through His Word. (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:3, 20,21). However, with this great blessing comes responsibility. God has revealed WHO He is through His Word, but we must take the time to listen to Him through reading the Bible. With that being said, look at Exodus 15. Here, Moses and the sons of Israel are singing a song to the Lord after their deliverance from Egypt. It is in this song that we can learn much about God and who He is. Here are some of the things we learn about God from the “Song of Moses and the Sons of Israel.”

  • He is highly exalted (Ex. 15:1)
  • He is my strength and song (Ex. 15:2)
  • He is a warrior (Ex. 15:3)
  • His name is Yaweh (Ex. 15:3)
  • His right hand is majestic in power and shatters enemies (Ex. 15:6)
  • He is unique and incomparable (Ex. 15:11)
  • He shall reign forever (Ex. 15:18)

Included here is nothing more than a list of facts concerning God. It’s our job to take such information, provided in the Word of God, and seek out its meaning. Those answers are also found in the Bible as we critically think through the information provided. So, let’s read, meditate on, and study more of God’s Word that we might know more of who He is.
