Walking through life is sweet when you’re walking with work that matters, cherished loved ones, family, a sense of purpose, etc. But if you do not walk with God none of the above matters. Christians enjoy the spiritual blessing Paul described as “newness of life” (Rom. 6:4). It’s a life that truly fulfills. We have been richly blessed to study topics and passages relevant to the theme this past weekend at the 9th annual Arise Spiritual Growth Workshop.
We have been challenged and strengthened. God was worshipped through our prayers, songs, and the proclamation of His word. The Southwest School of Bible Studies alumni were able to meet and get an update on the ongoing work of the school. SWSBS was able to thank supporters and alumni alike. We give God the glory.
We also took a moment to honor Cody Westbrook for his role in creating this great event. Without Cody, this event would not exist. It takes special talent to create a new type of event that breaks the mold of what has been done in the past. But through relationships, relevant topics, the responsibility of maintaining quality, and responding to difficult situations that arise, Cody blessed this congregation with a work that we will continue to see the benefits from for years to come.
God willing, we will enjoy similar blessings March 4-7, 2027 at the 10th annual Arise! Spiritual Growth Workshop. This congregation works so hard to make this all possible. I’m thankful for each act of service that adds up to a successful event. Remember your labor is not in vain (1 Cor. 15:58).
