Satan’s attacks are relentless–present in every area of our society. Therefore, Christians must constantly engage in a spiritual battle for the hearts and minds of humanity, and the salvation of souls. We must arise and meet the challenges of the day with faith and conviction, knowing that victory belongs to our God. For this reason, the Southwest Eldership decided to create an annual event that would help promote spiritual growth for every member of the body of Christ. The Arise! Southwest Spiritual Growth Workshop was born, and it’s hard to believe, but we’ve just completed our 6th year.
This year our theme was Arise and Overcome! Life presents so many challenges to overcome–grief, depression, anxiety, persecution, and sin to name a few. Thankfully our God provides the guidance we need to overcome these, and so many other challenges. Thus, we spent our weekend examining the scriptures in an effort to better equip every Christian to stand strong in the face of adversity. The lessons have been challenging, the singing spectacular, and the fellowship greatly encouraging. Lord willing, we will do it for a 7th time next year. Mark your calendar for February 29-March 3, 2024!
So many of you sacrifice and work so hard to make this event possible. Unquestionably, it would not be possible without you. Thank you so much for your generosity, service, and dedication, not just for Arise! but for all the work that takes place at this congregation. Always remember the words of Hebrews 6:10– “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Again, thank you, and may God bless you richly.
